Wilson Family Medicine would like to introduce the Electronic or E-medicine to our patients. With the technological era upon us now, we are making every effort to automate our functions to improve the quality of care to the patients we serve. In October 2004, we implemented an electronic medical records systems that has allowed improved patient care, enhanced patient satisfaction and better provider efficiency.

Wilson Family Medicine is pleased to offer a patient portal for our patients. A patient portal is an electronic entryway into our practice that is secure and compliant with HIPAA regulations. It is secure with your own personal login and password. Using these portals will give you enhanced access to the practice, increasing our ability to provide timely care for you and your family. Both portals are free of charge. Patient portals allow you to do the following:

1. Send an email message directly to our practice/providers.
2. Request and appointment.
3. Request a prescription.
4. View parts of your medical record and labwork.

The portal we are offering is one administered through A4 Healthsystems which is our Electronic Medical Records(EMR) vendor. This will do all of the above things, except it is tied right to our EMR system with the messages popping directly into our desktop of our EMR system. Messages can be responded to and also included directly into your EMR chart. Other benefits of this portal is that you can view parts of your medical records such as vital signs and office visits. Also providers can post interfaced lab results from Labcorp or Qwest directly to your personal website. We have to sign you up for this patient portal in our office and give you your own user name and password.
